Opening Day

There are 72 games on the Opening Day slate today. Here are the top matchups.

Glastonbury at Southington, 3:45 p.m.: Both of these CCC teams have a lot of talent returning this year.

Branford at Notre Dame-West Haven, 3:45 p.m.: A pair of division favorites. Branford should win the SCC Oronoque Division and the Green Knights will likely win the SCC Quinnipiac Division.

Wethersfield at Simbury, 3:45 p.m.: A good matchup between two of the better teams in the CCC.

Law at Shelton, 3:45 p.m.: Two SCC powerhouses.

Foran at Sheehan, 3:45 p.m.: Brian Ward up against Ryan Moore. Should make for a great pitcher's duel.

Haddam-Killingworth at Morgan, 3:45 p.m.: Two teams that should contend with Coginchaug for a Shoreline Conference title this season.

Newtown at Pomperaug, 4:15 p.m.: The defending SWC champs face the Panthers, perhaps the favorite to win it this season.
