Notre Dame-West Haven Off To Hot Start
Went down to the North Haven-Notre Dame-West Haven game yesterday for a story about shortstop Conor Keniry I'm working on and the Green Knights looked strong.
Notre Dame improved to 4-0 with a 9-0 win over the Indians.
Complemented by a stingy infield, ace David Beisler looked solid and only allowed two hits in his complete-game shutout. Notre Dame can obviously score some runs, too.
Look at the Green Knight's first four games...
Notre Dame 9, Branford 3
Notre Dame 7, Guilford 3
Notre Dame 24, Career 7
Notre Dame 9, North Haven 0
The Green Knights are still searching for some reliable pitching to pair up with Beisler and they haven't really been tested yet either.
Notre Dame has a good chance to start 8-0 before meeting up with Amity on April 26.
"We know we could score some runs, but you can't count on that," Notre Dame coach Lou Kessler said. "We need to find that No. 2 and No. 3 pitcher. There's still a long way to go."
He's right. But Kessler can't ask for a better start to the season.
