Thursday's Highlights

Joe Ciancola struck out six and allowed just three hits over five innings in Amity’s 12-0 win over Notre Dame-West Haven. Mark Esposito finished off the shutout, throwing the final two innings. Amity scored seven runs in the fourth inning. Anthony Aprile went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Eddy O’Neill hit a grand slam as Hand knocked off Foran 12-6. Alex Shaw had three hits and three RBIs for the Tigers.

Alex Westine scored on a wild pitch in the eighth inning as Ansonia edged Holy Cross 6-5.

Juliano Nieves scattered four hits and struck out seven to pick up his first win in Career’s 10-2 victory over Wilbur Cross.

Brett Michael Doran went 3-for-4 with four RBIs in Law’s 12-3 win over Hillhouse. Chris Peloso also went 4-for-4 with two RBIs.

Winning pitcher Dom Severino had an RBI double in Cheshire’s 5-1 victory over Sheehan.

Eric Hewitt had four hits, including two triples and a double, along with three RBIs in and five runs.

Derby’s offense exploded for 27 runs in a 27-5 win over Torrington. Mike Ippolito had four hits, six runs and six RBIs for the Derby.

Winning pitcher Austin French struck out 12 and had a two-run single as Hamden Hall beat Rye 2-0.
