Ridgefield ? Who have they beaten ? Shelton just beat Amity - has 2 losses to ND and Amity - better resume than teams in there - plus beat St Joes 7-0 zippo in a scrimmage !

Fciac stinks except for Greenwich - staples should be out - a top 10 team is not supposed to ever get CRUSHED

Derby was the whipping boys of the SCC - went to a weak conference

St. Joe's pitched 3 kids who aren't even on the varsity roster against Shelton. I really hope you were kidding talking about the Shelton scrimmage. Shelton might have 3 kids that can play for St. Joe's

I also think you meant that the Greenwich/Staples game was closer than the score indicated...It was 2-2 in the 7th.

Pomperaug should be number 1. They have the best pitching and hitting in the state. Garret Delotto is batting around .660 (it went down to that after going 2-3 in back to back games) and if his stats were put into maxpreps he would be in the top 5 in the COUNTRY. His brother Nick isnt far behind although he is hitting only .500. They have 2 pitchers who have thrown no-hitters and one them threw 2 no-no's.

How can you even say the FCIAC sucks. There are 3/4 very good teams in the FCIAC in Ridgefield, st joes and Greenwich with McMahon and staples up there. Plus Ridgefield lost 3-2 against Greenwich and all 3 runs we're scored in one innings on errors.

St. Joes beat Bpt. Central too on Saturday. Left that win out. And the poster above is correct. 3 JV kids threw against Shelton in the scrimmage. That being said, Shelton deserves to be in the Top 10. No doubt.

Ridgefield beat Wilton, Trumbull, Fairfield Ludlowe, Fairfield Warde, New Canaan, Newtown, Bunnell, Stamford and some other respectable teams. One loss was to McMahon where they played a great game but couldn't get the offense going, and suffered a prominent injury to one of their aces. They lost to Bridgeport Central in a game they basically gave away as they figured it'd be a joke and started juniors who had never played before. Ridgefield lost 3-2 against greenwich, when greenwich scored 3 runs on errors. I'd say that is VERY respectable.

St Joes is a good ball club- BUT they like Amity, Pompy, ND-WH are regional or recruitment schools- the rest are town schools- comparing apples to oranges..
those schools SHOULD always be good. pull from more players..
St Joes has 3 Shelton kids on their roster- Shelton would be even better.

year after year the SCC has at least one state champion- what league can say that?

St. Joseph didn't even want to be at that scrimmage. From being at the scrimmage close up. I would say Shelton has a few decent arms and about 3 kids that can swing. Not much else. Very true about St. Joseph having 3 Shelton kids. I wonder why they didn't go to Shelton. BTW...Those Shelton kids would probably be their best players

Speaking about recruiting...Do you think St. Joe's gives scholarship money to baseball players? How can you recruit without having money to offer them. It isn't that easy to find players whose parents can or even want to pay $12,500 a year. Most of the kids St. Joe's gets are kids whose parents don't like the schools in the town's they live in. i.e. Stratford, Bridgeport, Shelton, and Ansonia to name a few

St.Joes and Shelton adults stop the petty childish stuff please...Both teams have friends that grew up playing together and remain friends today....Bottom line is both teams are very good and are both worthy top 10 teams for sure....Stop throwing shots at each other....two different leagues and two different classes that will never play each other in a game that matters....

St Joe's does NOT give athletic scholarships to recruit players. Period. It's against all rules to do so. They get a good mix of talented kids from all over the state. For example, the 5 starting pitchers are all from different towns.

Pompy came out of this bad conference and won a title in 2010 for those of you with short memories.
