Overuse syndrome in young pitchers
I recently received this press release via e-mail about overuse syndrome in young baseball players.
A study by Dr. Ken Schiffman of Hinsdale Orthopedics in Hinsdale, Ill., followed 481 pitchers for 10 years. The study found that young players, who pitched more than 100 innings in a year were 3.5 times more likely to be injured than pitchers who pitch less.
