Monday's recap

Chris Ames’ RBI single drove in Brandon Hewitt in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Lyman Hall baseball team its first win of the season, 1-0 over Hand Monday in this Southern Connecticut Conference interdivision game at Wallingford.

Dan Russell tossed a two-hit shutout for the Trojans (1-11). Brian Anderson allowed just four hits in the loss for the Tigers (6-6).

Cheshire 3, Foran 2: Ethan Lonardelli’s walk-off two-run home run lifted the Rams to a victory over Foran in SCC interdivision play at Cheshire.

Dan Schock also drove in a run with a double in Cheshire’s three-run seventh inning. Kevin Mirando added two hits for Cheshire (5-6). Joe Zanghi had a double and a triple for the Lions (6-6).
West Haven 5, North Haven 2: Tyler Gambardella and Rick Balzano each had two hits for West Haven (7-5) in an SCC interdivision win at North Haven. Chris Brockett two hits for North Haven (8-4).

Notre Dame-West Haven 9, Career 2: Brian Gargiulo had three hits and Mike Levine added two to lead the Green Knights over the Panthers in SCC interdivision action at New Haven.

Notre Dame improves to 8-5. Josh Colon and Jose Negron each had two hits for Career (3-10).

Sheehan 3, Guilford 2: Mike Kakalow’s inside-the-park home run was the deciding run for Sheehan in an SCC interdivision win at Wallingford.

Nolan Cloutier singled in Kevin Duffy in the second inning to tie the game at 1-1 for the Titans (6-5). Guilford dropped to 6-6.

Platt Tech 3, Prince Tech 1: Mike Raccio scattered five hits and struck out 13 for Platt Tech in a Constitution State Conference win at Milford.
Raccio also had two hits and an RBI and Cutter Pinciero went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Panthers (8-5, 8-2). John Diaz had a hit and an RBI for Prince Tech 6-4).

North Branford 14, Old Saybrook 3: Chris Caron had three hits, including a triple, in the Thunderbirds Shoreline Conference victory at North Branford.

Mike Querfield added two doubles for the Thunderbirds (9-3).

East Haven 11, Hamden 9: Pete Grippo had three hits and two RBIs as the Easties edged the Green Dragons in SCC interdivision play at East Haven.

Brian Kucharski added two hits and two RBIs for the Easties (6-7). Dylan Kelly had two hits for Hamden (3-9).

Seymour 4, Wilby 2 (9): Jake Walkinshaw struck out six and had two hits with a double and an RBI in the Wildcats’ Naugatuck Valley League win at Waterbury.

Nick Kuzia and Mike Conlan each had two hits for the Wildcats (5-8).
